Anthropic cuts cost of biomolecular open-source models; launches protein design contest

Why it matters

Anthropic says specialized open-source biomolecular models are often costly to run, and shares optimizations aimed at structure modeling, molecule design, and mutation prediction. With Adaptyv Bio, it will experimentally validate over 5,000 protein designs and provide up to $1M in Claude credits plus experimental funding. Code and a technical report are published.
