Why it matters
【Key points】
On Oct 14 (US time) Anthropic's @ClaudeDevs announced a redesign of the Claude Code desktop app for running many sessions side by side; update the app and start a new session to get it.
1. Faster starts: recent folders are one click away, and a setup (folders, an SSH host, or the cloud) can be saved as an environment, optionally with a Git worktree per folder.
2. Easier splitting: parallel tasks each get a nested session that reports back to the main session, keeping the main thread readable. Suggested follow-ups launch as their own session in one click, and /btw side questions open in a separate tab.
3. Visibility: a sidebar shows which sessions are working and which need you; a live to-do list follows Claude's plan, a recap card sums up the turn when input is needed, and a side rail shows location, context and changes.
The main post had about 34k views and 1,000+ likes within roughly 20 minutes.

【Our read】
1. The shift is from coding in one chat window to supervising several agent sessions. Nested sessions keep subtask noise out of the main context and return only results.
2. Status in the sidebar and recap cards only when Claude needs you show the bottleneck moving from model speed to human attention; with several sessions open, the hard part is knowing which to look at. Codex, Cursor and others compete on the same problem.
3. There is only the thread and demo videos so far, no standalone changelog; check Anthropic's docs for availability by platform and plan.
