ChatGPT Slides ships in Space: build decks from a chat, files or an outline, co-edit with teammates in real time, present in ChatGPT or export to PowerPoint, PDF or Google Slides; rolling out to Pro, Business and Enterprise

Why it matters

【Key points】

OpenAI added "Create and collaborate on slides in ChatGPT" to its ChatGPT release notes: ChatGPT Slides is live. Start a deck from a conversation, files or an outline, or share an example deck to guide style and layout. Edit text, images, shapes and charts directly or ask ChatGPT to, and generate custom images.

Teammates can edit the same deck in real time and leave shared comments. Present directly from ChatGPT; on the web, export to PowerPoint, PDF or Google Slides; in the desktop app, open the deck in PowerPoint or Keynote if installed. It is rolling out to eligible Pro, Business and Enterprise users with Space access on web and desktop; to start, ask ChatGPT in Work to create a presentation in Space.

【Our read】

1. This delivers the collaborative Slides previewed for Space at DevDay on Sep 29. ChatGPT moves from "a plugin that helps with PowerPoint" to its own collaborative document suite, squarely against Google Slides, PowerPoint and Gamma.

2. A quiet launch: one release-notes entry, no official post or demo. How well formatting survives a PowerPoint export needs hands-on testing.

3. For now only Pro, Business and Enterprise accounts with Space get it; Plus and free users do not.
