Why it matters
【Key points】
On Oct 19 (17:00 UTC), Notion co-founder Akshay Kothari announced a rebuilt Notion AI, the company's sixth-generation agent harness:
1. Sessions run on a dedicated, restart-proof worker service, so one task can run for more than 24 hours (up from five minutes).
2. Agents get their own computer and browser to run short scripts, long chats are compacted, and big tool outputs stay out of context. A "Review for me" mode uses a separate model to check an action is safe first.
3. The upgraded Auto router picks a model per task and switches if progress stalls. Notion says that across 20+ common tasks it matched Opus 5.5 and Astra at about 90% lower average cost; Custom Agent runs cost about 30% less in testing.
4. ChatGPT Plus, Pro and Go plans can now power the personal Notion Agent; Enterprise BYOK is in private alpha; Notion MCP was overhauled.
Business and Enterprise seats now get 1,500 Standard credits (Notion picks the model) and 500 Select credits (you pick, or run Custom Agents) a month: new customers now, existing ones on Nov 2.

【Our read】
1. Day-long tasks, a sandboxed computer and a safety-review model bring coding-agent infrastructure into office software for a large non-technical user base.
2. The "Opus 5.5-level at 90% lower cost" figure is Notion's own evaluation with unpublished tasks and scoring; treat it as a vendor claim.
3. Separate credit pools, with pricier models in Select, show frontier inference costs still push apps toward routing and caps. Watch real credit burn after Nov 2.
